Privacy Policy

Effective October 12, 2026

This policy explains how TabTuyo handles information when you use the TabTuyo Chrome extension and tabtuyo.com. The extension personalizes your new tab; the website offers wallpapers, themes, and modules.

Information used by the extension

The extension uses Chrome’s topSites permission to display frequently visited website titles and URLs in its Recent Sites module. It does not access your complete browsing history through the history permission. Your favorites, hidden-site choices, theme and font preferences, module settings, layout, tasks, and notepad entries are stored on your device. Saved wallpaper images and videos are stored locally in IndexedDB. These preferences and personal entries are not uploaded to TabTuyo’s server.

You can create a backup file yourself. That file can contain your saved media, settings, favorites, and module data; you control where it is saved and whom you share it with.

External requests

To display site icons, the extension requests favicons from Google’s favicon service. Those requests include the website origin (scheme and hostname, plus a port if applicable), rather than the full visited page URL. Google also receives ordinary connection information such as your IP address. Searches you submit are opened with your selected search provider, which receives your search terms and handles them under its own privacy policy. Visiting a favorite or recent-site link opens that website.

When you choose an item on tabtuyo.com, the extension receives the selected item’s metadata. For wallpapers it requests the chosen media from our server and saves it locally. Download requests include ordinary connection information and the website’s download-session cookie. The extension does not send your Recent Sites list, favorites, tasks, or notes to TabTuyo.

Website information and security cookies

You do not need a TabTuyo account to browse the library. Our hosting server may record standard access and error logs, including IP addresses, requested URLs, timestamps, browser information, and response status. We use this information to operate the site, diagnose problems, and protect it against abuse.

Wallpaper delivery uses an essential session cookie, request verification, short-lived access tokens, and rate limits. Security records can include selected item identifiers and hashed identifiers derived from a session or IP address. The session cookie has no persistent expiry and is normally removed when the browser session ends, subject to your browser’s session-restore behavior. These mechanisms authorize downloads and prevent abuse; they are not used for behavioral advertising.

Advertising

The website is intended to be supported by advertising. Live advertising is currently disabled. If Google AdSense is enabled, Google and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads, and may receive information such as IP addresses and browser identifiers. Any required consent controls will be provided before applicable advertising storage or processing begins. Extension browsing data is not supplied for advertising or used to target ads.

Use and sharing

We use information only to provide the requested features, maintain the website, and protect the service. We do not sell extension user data. Service providers such as our hosting provider process technical information necessary to operate the service. We may disclose information when legally required or necessary to address fraud, security incidents, or protect legal rights.

TabTuyo’s use of information received from Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Such information is not used for unrelated purposes, advertising targeting, creditworthiness, or lending decisions.

Retention and your controls

Local extension data remains until you remove it using the extension’s controls, clear its data, or uninstall it. Backup files you export remain wherever you save them. You can remove saved gallery items, edit or delete favorites and module entries, and manage website cookies through your browser. Server logs and security records are retained for operational, security, and legal needs rather than as a permanent user profile. We do not promise a fixed deletion period for all server records.

For questions or requests about information held by us, contact edphon3z@gmail.com. Please do not send passwords or unnecessary sensitive information. We may need enough information to verify and locate a request.

Security and changes

Website connections use HTTPS, wallpaper access is restricted, and application database access is limited. No system can guarantee absolute security. We will update this page when our practices change and revise the effective date; material changes will be communicated as appropriate.
